Nuts and seeds are often discounted as great sources of vitamins and protein. I keep them on deck and make all kinds of foods with them like: walnut meat ( ground beef substitute), vegan sausage (out of sunflower seeds), pie filling, mock chicken salad, sunflower seed pate', trail mix, plant based cheese ( out of macadamian nuts and cashews). I buy them a cpl lbs at a time unsalted and raw, bake/toast them at 170 for 60mins so that they last longer and store them in my kitchen cabinet. They last a few months w/o going rancid. I also have powdered peanutbutter in my survival pantry.

@Djedi Naz are there any kinds of nuts and seeds you wouldn’t bake?
